OUR VISION
OPROMAMER is an association with the aim of ensuring that treatment for mental illness and disability is mainstreamed throughout Rwanda’s development plans. By promoting inclusion and addressing the barriers that exclude people with mental illness and/or disabilities, survivors of mental disabilities can gain full and equal participation in society.Preventive care and advocacy for those with mental illnesses/disability will keep more people fully connected to community. Thus, the vision of promoting an individual's self-realization, mindfulness and wisdom in order to become resourceful participants of the country and its development.
OUR STRATEGY
OPROMAMER's activities are implemented through differing yet convergent fields such as in psycho-social settings, educational outreach, legal support, plus advocacy through the systematic promotion of psychosocial-educational and legal sensitizations.In order to achieve its objectives OPROMAMER has four Standing Committees through which all the activities are carried out:
- Standing Committee on Counseling, Community Psycho-sensitization and Research Exchange
- Standing Committee on Legal Intervention to mentally ill/disabled people and to survivors of mental illness
- Standing Committee on Social intervention
- Standing Committee on Specific Education to Individuals
